Ritzville, WA, a small rural city at I-90 exit 221 and US Route 395, is over an hour from Spokane and serves as Adams County's seat. With a population of 1,942 (2021 Census), it supports agriculture and business, aided by travelers at the Loves truck stop and five restaurants, including Starbucks and McDonald's. However, these do not offer sufficient nutritious food and household goods. To prevent becoming a food desert, the city needs a supermarket within 10 miles (USDA, 2025). Harvest Foods Grocery Store is within city limits. The attached trade area capture report explores whether it meets Ritzville's grocery needs and if surrounding communities rely on it.
